Only kills the harmful bacteria
Salmonella in the food chain, Listeria -a risk for pregnant women- and the hospital bacterium MRSA: all examples of dangerous bacteria that can cause serious health problems. Antibiotics are used to treat infections, but also kill good bacteria on the skin and in our gut. At the end of 2014, the Times covered a story about Micreos’ targeted endolysin technology, set to replace antibiotics. Ever since, Micreos has been in the spotlight as a real answer to antibiotics resistance. How does Micreos distinguishes only unwanted bacteria leaving the beneficial bacteria intact? And how is this method not inducing resistance?
